Updated: Feb 15, 2023

The pandemic situation has a significant impact on various groups. Many people find this situation difficult, and not a few people start to lose orientation due to this pandemic. Seeing this situation, Spin Productions came with an innovation named Festival Kreasi. Festival Kreasi is a series of webinars and online workshops on the film industry and the digital world which are held to provide a platform for the public to learn new things. The event has been held since 9 August 2020 to 6 September 2020. It consisted of several webinars delivered by speakers who were experts in their fields, such as Gritte Agatha, Putri Ayudia, George Arif, Haris Pranowo, Retha Tahir, Rosdiana Setyaningrum, Dahlia Sardjono, Rika Hindraruminggar, and Surjorimba Suroto.

This event was started with Jumpa Kreasi on 9 August 2020, which became a forum for participants to get to know and acquainted with the speakers who will exclusively fill the upcoming webinars.

The first webinar of Festival Kreasi is “Acting for Film” that was presented by the beautiful actress Putri Ayudia. On this occasion, Putri shared her experiences in the world of acting and presenters, starting from the casting process she has been through, the things that are required to become an actor, and how to build character to convey them in front of the camera.

The second webinar which was held on 27 August 2020 discussed “Music & Sound Effects for Advertisements and Web Series”. Here, Haris Pranowo, who is a music composer, will thoroughly discuss things related to background music (BGM) and sound effects (SFX), especially how to strengthen a certain mood or atmosphere using musical elements.

On 28 August 2020, the third webinar “Directing Masterclass” hosted by George Arif was held. He thoroughly discussed matters related to directing, starting from the stages from pre-production to post-production, how to interpret the brief, as well as the role of a director during location recce.

Then it was continued by the “UKM Festival” on 29 August 2020. This webinar discussed four topics needed to build UKM. Starting with topics related to content creation, such as "Photo Using a Mobile Phone" presented by Retha Tahir, a digital marketer who has a hobby of photography, and "Video Using a Mobile" with George Arif. After that, it also continued with topics that were no less important, which are "Brand Personality" by Rosdiana Setyaningrum and "Branding & Marketing" by Dahlia Sardjono.

As we know, Youtube has succeeded in becoming one of the platforms favoured by people in this digital era. Therefore, in this fifth class "YouTuber Festival", Gritte Agatha discussed life as a YouTuber. She shared her experiences and provided the keys needed to become a Youtuber. In this webinar, she is also accompanied by Sari Nila and Rosdiana Setyaningrum who discuss other exciting topics, style and character.

In the sixth "Producing Masterclass" webinar, Rika Hindraruminggar discusses everything related to film production, from pre-production, production, post-production, to film distribution.

The seventh webinar was held on 3 September 2020 to discuss "Camera Operation". As the title suggests, George Arif differs all about camera operations, from the types of shots, how to do shot breakdowns, and interpreting the script, and of course the ethics of working with directors.

This series of events was closed on 6 September 2020 with the topic "Becoming a Good Movie Audience". This webinar is presented by Surjorimba Suroto, a cinema lover and founder of the Indonesian Tintin Community. He discusses how to be a good audience and its ethics, so that it could support the development of the film industry, especially Indonesian films.

The Festival Kreasi received a positive response and enthusiasm from the community. More than 80 participants have participated in this Festival, learning and sharing knowledge. In the future, Spin Productions hopes to continue to hold other Creative Festivals, by raising new themes and inviting other speakers who are certainly no less attractive.
